Lisa Gibbs is the director of news partnerships at The Associated Press and the newsroom’s lead on AP’s automation and artificial intelligence strategy group. Bowen has decades of experience as a scientist and business leader in the natural language technology, machine learning, and artificial intelligence fields.

Before joining JD.com, Bowen was with IBM for almost 15 years. Youichiro Miyake has been involved in the development of video game titles while researching game AI technologies as the lead AI researcher at Square Enix. He has developed and designed AI for numerous game titles. He has given many lectures in the universities and game developer conferences and has published academic papers on game AI and procedural techniques for digital games. Mandali Khalesi is Global Head of Automated Driving Mobility and Innovation at Toyota Motor Corporation, and General Manager of Toyota’s Advanced R&D and Engineering Company. He is a former Chair of ITS Japan’s Automated Driving Support Center working group, supporting the development of automated driving mobility to benefit local communities in the regions outside the Tokyo metropolis.

Originally a Masters graduate in Astrophysics from University College London, Mandali moved to Japan in 1999 working in IT for local government and software companies. In 2005 he established Japan’s first location-based mobile advertising business for luxury brands in a traditional Japanese house complete with moss garden in downtown Tokyo. After the receipt of multiple awards, such as being named one of the top tech entrepreneurs in Asia, in 2008 he moved to Europe to work on developing location-based software products at ground-breaking companies such as TomTom NV, Binatone Telecom PLC and Nokia OY. Ms. Ivy Li, Co-Founder & Executive Director of WildFaces brings with her several decades of practical industry experience in AI experience to the role. She is an inventor with 50 international patents related to complex AI technologies. Ms. Li’s philosophy has always been to ensure that these technologies address customers’ pain-points in a cost effective and practical way. Products based on her patents have been deployed in 50 countries across 30 industries. Many of these countries are Belt and Road targeted countries in Asia, Middle East & Eastern Europe.

Being a HK born technologist, Ms. Li advocates that Chinese companies must invest in building their own self-own AI core technologies to deliver their unique offering. She established WildFaces to demonstrate that a company from the Greater China region could build world class technologies that would be sought after by the West. WildFaces has patents to achieve results that no other company in the world can achieve.
